BARATTINO VILLA RELAIS

History of the Place

“History is testimony of the past, light of truth, life of memory, teacher of life, herald of ancient times."

Our Origins

I like to start this short story by remembering my father Libero, a person widely known for his honesty, intelligence and resourcefulness. Accompanied by my mother, his devoted and worthy wife, while devoting himself to studying the world of constructions, he also nurtured a love for nature and agriculture and in the distant 70’s, he begun building a thriving farm made up of orchards, vineyards, olive groves and ploughable land.

Then, due to unexpected life events, at the end of the 1980’s, I found myself managing this reality from my brother Piero, also a builder and from my son Paolo, then a student. The passion for nature and the desire to share it with others lead us to start in the early 90s the “agritourism/farmhouse” business making use of the houses that had been restored by my son Paolo, then a young architect. The same architect who today, with great enthusiasm and ability, has renovated them, giving the farm a contemporary look while respecting memories and their rural tradition.
It is no coincidence that in the houses there are real images of the products of our land to testify our “little big story” of dedication and love for nature with the memory of who we were preceded by. Today the farm, back to its original size, yields quality production by cultivating a small orchard in which there are only ancient fruit plants of many rare varieties as well as olive trees, arable land and a vegetable family garden and farm animals. All of these products are strictly organic and available to all of our guests.
